“God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.”
Psalm 62:11
We all appreciate electricity.
It’s the source of energy that powers the appliances and gadgets in our homes.
When power is lost due to a heavy storm of wind, rain, and lightning… it gets your attention, doesn’t it?
People get so used to having power that when a storm shuts it off, they stumble into powerless rooms and flick the switches, expecting light.
God has a way of trumping the best that man can do. He has a way of reminding us that power doesn’t belong to the utility companies.
One well-placed bolt of lightning can prove that point in an instant.
Power belongs to God.
He can make it for you.
He can give it to you.
He can take it from you.
But power is not just electrical.
It’s “something applied to cause an effect.”
God holds all the power cards in life.
He alone is omnipotent.
Whatever mankind can invent, make, do, accomplish, perform, create, or deliver…
God can do it bigger, better, stronger, cooler, more efficient, cheaper, and just plain perfect.
So, before we get all impressed by anything man can do, just remember that this is God’s creation. He’s not impressed by our witty inventions.
But if we can use our limited power to create and do things that will promote His mighty power, then He will be glorified and pleased.
And that’s the plan. Glorify Him!
Use your limited power wisely for His glory.
Keep your armor on.
