Every Second of Every Day

“But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.”
Psalm 70:5

We should all claim this verse every single day.
No matter what stage of life you’re in, whether healthy or weakened, wealthy or poor, growing in grace or beset by sin…you need God today.

Not only do you need Him, but you’d better believe that His help is the only help that will make a difference in your day.

You need help today. You’re walking through a spiritual battleground, and your adversary is prowling around you and plotting his moves against you.
This is not cause for paranoia, this is cause for humility and trust in the LORD.

We tend to call on God when life gets urgent. Then we pick up our prayer life and frantically call God for help, ANY help, NOW!

There’s nothing wrong with calling on God when life gets tumultuous.

But sometimes we come to the place of a frantic prayer life because the daily consistent prayer that builds trust in God hasn’t been a priority.
We forget that we’re poor and needy, needing His help and deliverance…and that creates a self-reliance that was never meant to be the main operating system in our hearts or lives.

“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”  Jeremiah 10:23

Trials underscore just how fragile and tenuous life really is…and then our self-reliance gets slapped in the face.

We need Him. Every hour.
Every minute. Every second.

Keep your armor on…every second.
