“Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.”
Psalm 40:16
When was the last time you got giddy thinking about God, His goodness, and your salvation?
When was the last time you JUST HAD TO break into praise or song because your heart overflowed with His goodness and presence?
When was the last time your prayer time took twice as long because you JUST COULDN’T STOP thanking God and praising Him for what He’s done in your life?
When was the last time you JUST COULDN’T WAIT to get out your Bible to study and read the blessed words that He wrote to you?
When was the last time you got excited to go to church to hear God’s Word preached and taught?
If your answer is “recently” or “often” to any of those questions, that’s because you’re magnifying God in your life and avoiding the spiritual plateau.
Your Christian life WILL plateau IF YOU LET IT…but it never should.
As we age and God sanctifies us, we should be learning more about God and drawing closer to Him DAILY.
Which means that He must increase (be magnified), and we must decrease DAILY.
(John 3:30)
Have you plateaued spiritually?
Have you gone backward?
Skipping church?
Skipping Bible study?
Skipping prayer time?
Skipping praise?
Skipping fellowship with believers?
I dare say if that’s the case, then you have magnified YOUR life, and YOUR plans, and placed God in a box in the basement of your heart.
That’s not where He belongs, friend.
Let’s take King David’s advice today and EVERYDAY of our lives:
“O magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together.”
Psalm 34:3
Keep God on the top shelf of your heart, and keep your armor on.
