“The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.”
Psalm 9:16
Higgaion: “Meditation or thought.”
Think about this verse.
God is in complete control.
He has never NOT been in control.
He is a God of love, grace, and mercy…
but He also is a God of judgment.
And His judgment is nothing to
play around with.
As a matter of fact, His judgment is unforgettable and undeniable.
He doesn’t judge like we judge when we bicker over new paint colors for the bathroom or which outfit to wear on Sunday.
He judges from a position of absolute wisdom and knowledge.
His judgment has a purpose for all of eternity. He can judge PAST actions in the PRESENT that impact the FUTURE in ways we can never know. That’s why it’s important to be in His camp, because you’re aligning with a General who wins for all eternity.
The wicked also have a purpose when they act, but it’s a lost cause. Their great cause is self-promotion, self-gratification, and personal power.
Evildoers CANNOT win.
Yes, they have SOME power and SOME ability to get ahead in this life, but with each heartbeat they draw closer to getting busted in this life and destroyed in the next.
Two camps.
God’s camp has an ironclad guarantee that life’s bruises are temporary, our salvation is secure in Christ, and His judgments are absolute.
Satan’s camp is filled with anxious people chasing their flesh, denying God, and doing their best to outwit and outlast His judgments.
Not happening.
Higgaion.
The wicked are missing out on eternity in glory as they spread nets of destruction for themselves.
It’s better to go to the Judge for forgiveness NOW and avoid His wrath when this life ends.
There’s nothing better than knowing you’re saved by faith (alone) in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Keep your armor on.
