“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9
It’s always worth doing right.
It’s always worth obeying God.
It’s always worth honoring Him.
It’s always worth serving Him.
The bottom line in life is this:
You’re either going to do what God desires or what your selfish flesh desires.
We know what we SHOULD do, but it’s hard to do the right thing all the time if we aren’t rewarded for our efforts.
“I mean, if I’m going out of my way to do good, at least let me see something come of it.”
Ever said that? I have.
We all live in impatient flesh bodies, but one of the things that trains us to be patient is planting a garden or farming a field.
Our investment in the right things can often be like planting seeds in the ground.
It can take a really long time before we see the tiniest sprouts of life…and it takes even longer for the plant to mature and bear fruit.
That’s why Paul uses the term “reap”. Reaping is the best. A lot of sweaty work goes into planting and tending, but when it’s time to reap it’s worth it.
You reap WHAT you sow, and you reap MORE THAN you sow.
You can count the seeds in an apple, but you can’t count the potential apples in one seed.
So, keep planting seeds.
That thing you do for the LORD, stick with it. If He called you to do it, then it’s going to be worth it all one day, whether anyone ever notices you or not: God notices.
And one day, you’ll reap a harvest.
Don’t faint…rest, but don’t quit.
Keep your armor on today.
