The Mudpit and the Rock of Ages

“Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.”
Psalm 69:14

We live in a time that certainly requires discernment. Most people who have more than two wires “sparking together upstairs” can see that we are in the middle of an information war involving mass propaganda and masterful persuasion.

The devil operates in the realm of psychological warfare: remember that.

And how did Christ conduct Himself?
Did He manipulate people? No.
Did He trick people? No.
Did He lead people on and make promises to them He couldn’t keep? No.
Did He lie to them and “work the angles” to achieve His ulterior motive? No.

Jesus was a straight shooter, not a sneaky manipulator like Satan.
We love Him for that.
He told everyone who He was and demonstrated it through miracles.
He chopped it out in black and white and let the chips of anger and rage fall back on Himself.
Humanity rejected His truth and honesty.

I want to live in a world that is upright and honest, but we’re mired in corruption and deceit.

Lies. Lies come from the Liar.
The Liar has used and abused humanity by tempting weak leaders to serve their own flesh and lie to the people…
and decades of wallowing in that filthy mire has infected our society to the bone.

The mud of the mire is made of sin and lies. The way out of the mire is to climb onto the Rock: the LORD Jesus Christ.
The days of being half-on and half-off the Rock are over. Done. Finished.
The enemy is pulling those without discernment into his emotional bog and out into the deeper waters of delusion and deception.

But there’s still room on the Rock!
We just have to hate the mire.
Sin? Lies? Bickering? Worthless.
Purity? Truth? Discretion? Priceless.

Keep your armor on.
