“And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.”
Genesis 3:2
The serpent had a plan to derail the perfection, the peace, the protection, and the providence of the Garden of Eden and the relationship that Adam and Eve had with God.
He wasn’t trying to just “mess around” with their heads.
He was trying to infiltrate and RUIN the human race.
He wanted to slap God in the face.
Eve didn’t have a Bible to tell her about spiritual warfare.
She was dealing with the physical presence of Satan who was speaking to her directly as some form of serpentine entity.
She conversed with him. Why?
She wasn’t obligated to even give him the time of day.
She fed into Satan’s cunning style, informing him of which trees they were allowed to eat from…though it was none of his business.
Their lives didn’t concern him.
The right response?
“Beat it, devil.”
“Get lost, devil.”
“NOT WELCOME, SNAKE!”
If we’re ever going to experience personal or national revival, it will REQUIRE having a healthy dose of spiritual grit and serpent resistance.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Resist the snake.
Give him NO PLACE today.
