Jesus Saves the Condemned!

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
John 3:18

When I was a teenager my friends and I loved to go fishing.
One day we were fishing in a creek down an old, country dirt road.
We hadn’t caught much of anything and decided to explore the surrounding area instead.

One of my friends mentioned going over to an abandoned farmhouse just up the road, so we stowed our gear and went to check it out.

We walked up to this extremely old, derelict house.
The surrounding field and bushes had nearly swallowed it. The windows were broken, the paint was gone, and there were gaping, rotten holes in the roof.

On the door was a faded old piece of paper stating that the house was “CONDEMNED: DO NOT ENTER!”

Of course, we entered.
What a disgusting mess.
There were piles of boards, trees growing through the floor, broken glass, and busted chairs…and that was just in the old kitchen.

We were unable to go further due to the rotted floorboards, and I didn’t want to risk falling through and impaling myself on rotting, rusty nails and boards.

Within five minutes we heard buzzing, and hornets began chasing us out of the house. We ran away as fast as we could.

Condemned? Yes.
It was doomed for destruction and dangerous to deal with.
Nobody in their right mind would try to fix that rotting mess and try to live in it.

That house represents every lost sinner who is condemned by their sin and doomed for destruction.
There’s only ONE carpenter that CAN and WOULD take on a project as ruinous as that old house and transform it into something great.

Jesus Christ is that carpenter.
Jesus Christ is that Savior.

When you see humanity at its lowest and worst, and all that remains is a rotting pile of lost dreams and hopelessness, the Master shows up and says,
“I can fix that, if you let me.”

The Master Carpenter rebuilds, renews, and restores the condemned souls who call on Him for help.

Keep your armor on.
