The younger and the older need each other…today.

“The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.”
Proverbs 20:29

In order to be useful for the Lord, a home, community, and/or nation needs to value the young AND the old. We need to grasp that God has specific purposes for every season of life.

Young people: You have youthful energy that is going to decrease as you get older. Sorry, it just is.
Let me give you some advice. Use the energy that you have to serve God and His people. Carry some physical burdens for those who are weaker than you. Be available and willing to lend a hand.

Look at the older folks all around you. They won’t be around forever and will likely leave this life before you. Learn from them if they have Godly wisdom.

Ask questions. You haven’t yet been where they are, but they’ve been where you are.
Learn from them which battles are worth fighting, and which aren’t.

Older people: If ever we needed some wise older saints to speak to this generation, it’s now.
Please share your Godly wisdom with younger people. Too many in society are glued to their phones convinced that Google is the village elder with all the answers.

Please reach out to the young people around you and reinforce the fact that serving God and pleasing Him with our decisions is all that matters in life.

We need the young and the old working, learning, and growing together.
The devil doesn’t want that important part of society activated, that’s why the kids are all glued to cell phones, tablets, and video games…while the older folks are left alone without the encouragement of the younger.

We can change that.
Less screentime. More face to face.
More genuine conversation and interaction between old and young would be very beneficial at this point in time. It’s what God had intended for a healthy society.

Keep your armor on.
