The Straight-Shooting Savior: Part Two

“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
John 8:24

This statement by Jesus Christ is considered “extreme” by today’s standard.
That’s because today’s standard is “secular humanism”.

Secular humanism has no place for God, the Bible, or anything supernatural like the work of the Holy Spirit or divine intervention.

Instead it’s a philosophy grounded in secular ethics and human reason…which is not solid ground, but shifting sand.

I don’t know how you’re wired, but I like truth to hit me right between the eyes:
I like direct preaching.
I like to be ruffled.
I like to be convicted of sin.

Why? Because I enjoy the sweet fellowship with God that comes from having a clear conscience and a repentant heart.
I don’t like a sinful, guilty conscience and broken fellowship with God.

When I’m right with God, my spiritual life is like a grassy, sunny field.
But when sin grips my heart and controls my actions, life plunges into a stormy sea.

The unsaved world LIVES in such a stormy state. How sad!
Secular humanism rejects the lifeline of Jesus Christ. There is no emphasis on personal sin and eternal consequences for that sin…there is thus no need for redemption, and no need for Christ. See how easy they get rid of God?

“If you don’t believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and repent of your sins, you’ll never see heaven.” (John 3:36)

Offended? Most people are.
That statement hits dead center…and amazingly it even angers people who don’t believe in God, Jesus, or heaven.

This world is trying to ignore Jesus Christ…they’re trying to pretend that He was just an anomaly, a guru, a fanatic…

He’s not a liar.
He’s not a lunatic.
He’s the Lord of Lords.
And if you reject Christ,
you’ll NEVER see heaven.

If that offends you, by all means find a quiet room, get on your knees, and ask God to make it clear. Ask God for great faith to believe in Him.
He’d love to hear from YOU.
He has the answer for YOU.
Because He loves YOU.

John 11:25-26
Jeremiah 33:3

I’m glad Jesus was a straight-shooter.

He didn’t come to play silly games and stroke our egos. He came to save the lost and destroy the work of the devil.
