The Breaking Point

“Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”
Isaiah 6:5

The book of Isaiah is a phenomenal gift from God.
God allowed the prophet Isaiah to see and experience things that we can only imagine.

In Isaiah chapter 6, the first four verses reveal the power and majesty of God proclaimed by angels and witnessed by Isaiah…and here in verse 5, the prophet hits a breaking point.

Overwhelmed by it all, he cries out to the Lord.

Have you ever had a heart to heart talk with God during those heavy moments of life?
Have you ever RAN to the prayer closet?

Those moments of life that drain our strength require a lengthy stop at God’s filling station: the prayer closet.

Yes, it takes time and you’ll spend some tears, but nothing compares to a heart-to-heart with God.

My most desperate times in life have been my best praying times…and God not only took time to listen, but surrounded me with such a presence of His holiness that I felt “completely undone, a man of unclean lips dwelling in a land of unclean lips.”

We don’t quite know what holiness is in this life, since we have to view it from this fleshly world while having our own fleshly tendencies.

In the presence of the holy King, Isaiah melted down and only saw his own fleshly filth and filthy mouth.

That’s what God does.
He radiates holiness.

And our sin will never outshine His holiness…sinners melt in his presence. They come undone.

Keep your prayer closet warm, and don’t be afraid to become undone in His presence. He wants to undo what’s wrong in our hearts and tighten up what’s righteous in our lives.

Have a great weekend!
