You’ll Be Tempted to Quit

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13

God is faithful.
He can be trusted.

Have you ever been in a predicament and you were told,
“Sorry. You’re on your own.”
God doesn’t do that with His children…does He?

Let me ask you this:
What is that one thing that you fear would cause you to snap and reject God?

For those who are married it’s the thought of someone harming their spouse.
For those who are parents, you might snap if someone harmed one of your children.

How about your parents?
How about your pet?
Your home?
Your reputation?

The reason I ask is not to tempt you, but rather to prepare you.
There is a day of temptation (testing) coming that will force you to make a decision between righteousness and rebellion…between the things that you love and the God that you serve.

God WILL allow your trial to take place.
He will give Satan enough chain to reach your life without destroying your soul…and are you preparing for that eventuality? Am I?
Are we preparing to respond well when we’re tempted to be angry and bitter against God?

Remember Job.
God tested Him greatly, and we still marvel at Job’s words after God allowed Satan to destroy Job’s life and kill his children.

“And (Job) said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”
Job 1:21

God isn’t mean.
He’s leading us through a battlefield back to Himself, and He wants us to be mature enough to handle difficult things that happen in this life of spiritual warfare.

So, whatever your path back to Him looks like, remember that He is guiding you specifically for His honor and glory.
He is allowing certain trials in order to grow and mature you, not to destroy you…no matter what the devil tells you to the contrary.

With God’s help, you WILL handle the temptation you’re facing.
Ask Him to teach you during your times of trial, and He will.

Keep your wits about you and the Word of God flowing through you!

Have a great day, soldiers of Christ.
