“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
We don’t have to sin.
When we’re tempted to choose wrong and sin, there’s a powerful two-letter response available to us:
“No.”
If you can master that word, you can save yourself a lot of baggage, drama, and heartache.
The word “NO” can help you build a strong and muscular reflex against the devil and temptation.
(James 4:7)
How does God view YOUR response to temptation?
Do you flirt with temptation, and then cry out to God after sin has gotten the better of you?
Does He see in you an acknowledgment of your own weaknesses?
Does He see in you a soul who understands spiritual warfare?
Do you understand your besetting sins, and is God helping you overcome them?
There is a way of escape for those being tempted, and in my opinion, it starts with a firm “No”.
God opens up options and avenues which are righteous alternatives to the devils “carrot and stick” routine…but we have to resist the carrot and stick.
We can escape temptation if we stay on the road of righteousness.
God will graciously help us to bear those moments in life that seek to overpower our faith. He will make a way when it seems there is no way of escape.
Build a strong “NO” reflex to temptation and the flesh.
Build a strong “YES” reflex to righteousness.
God will handle the escape routes if or when you need them.
Keep your armor on.
