“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 19:14
Ever wonder what heaven will be like?
It will have the same innocence and wonder that exists in children.
Have you ever played peekaboo with a baby? All they care about is seeing your smiling face come bursting out from behind your hands. That’s what makes them happy….that and food.
Have you ever walked through the woods with kids? Their big fascination is picking up a stick, or watching a squirrel, or listening for birds.
They find the simplest things to be amazing, like throwing pebbles into a river and laughing when they go “kerplunk”.
When you were young, did you ever camp out with friends?
We had some of the best times with sleeping bags, funny stories, a mesmerizing campfire, and s’mores. We didn’t want Nintendo…we wanted hiking, fishing, and climbing trees.
God made children to have a simplistic wonderment and joy in life. Jesus loves the little children because He sees their pure hearts and lack of sinful pollution. They’re not yet encumbered with the lust of the world, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
He told the disciples that the kingdom of heaven will have that same innocence.
It won’t be full of political banter, debauchery, drugs and alcohol, profanity, violence, and death. I thank God for that.
I’m ready for a return to innocence, purity, joy, happiness, and simple pleasures. You can have all of this world, just give me Jesus and the simplicity and innocence of Heaven’s splendor.
The best is yet to come for believers in Jesus Christ!
