Life Can Get Heavy

“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
Psalm 3:3

So many people today are hanging their heads in discouragement.
They’re discouraged about bad habits and sinful choices.
They’re discouraged about the state of the world.
They’re discouraged about family feuds and dramatic nonsense.
They’re discouraged that their body is breaking down in sickness.

If that’s you today, and your head is hanging low, I want to encourage you to ask God to lift up your head.

Let’s ask Him together…

“Heavenly Father, this world can be so discouraging. Many times I feel the weight of life pulling on me and I want to rise above it.

I cannot soar on eagle’s wings if I’m anchored in despair and depression. Please shield me from discouragement.

I ask you to lift my head and let me see those things that have eternal importance. Help me to stay encouraged in you, and focused on your promises to me.

Lord, help me to keep life in perspective. Help me to see that today is all about YOU and not about me. Thank you for thinking of me today and loving me today. Help me to glorify you today.

If I get sad, please bring me joy.
If I get depressed, please bring me hope.
If I get lonely, please be my friend.
Help me to remember that Jesus Christ also had such times of despair.

Lift my head, Lord…Give me a fresh and clear perspective on the day, and help me to be an encouragement to those who are discouraged.
I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who is my confidence. Amen.”

Lift up your head today.
Let God revive your Spirit.
Keep your armor on.
