“They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.”
Nehemiah 4:17
What a different world this would be if everyone understood spiritual warfare and the value of human souls.
Can you imagine that?
As a matter of fact, if everyone TRULY understood spiritual warfare they’d stop doing things that favor the devil.
If people could truly SEE the evil that is engaged against humanity, and the hell that is prepared for the devil, they’d think twice about their sin.
William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, said this:
“If I had my choice, I wouldn’t send you to school, I’d send you to hell for five minutes, and you’d come back real soul winners.”
A good Christian loves the Lord.
A great Christian loves souls.
It’s the love of souls that
compels us to fight.
Just as a soldier swears an oath to protect their countrymen, we also should serve others from a core of determination to please God.
Every laborer who built the wall around Jerusalem understood what they were involved in.
They were serious in Nehemiah’s day.
From the cook to the bricklayer, from the grunt to the taskmasters…everyone was prepared for work and strapped for war.
Their diligence paid off, they finished the wall around Jerusalem in 52 days.
If we caught a glimpse of the spiritual realm and the battle raging around us, we’d be more diligent regarding prayer time, Scripture reading, sanctification, and sharing Christ with others.
Are you in the Lord’s army?
Work hard, stay vigilant, pray often,
love souls, and praise the King…
every single day.
That’s a good recipe for successfully winning souls…how many people will we bring to heaven with us?
