The U.S. Secret Service is an amazing organization. We know them as “those people in sunglasses and suits” who stand guard around U.S. Presidents and diplomats.
They aren’t usually seen smiling.
They aren’t seen joking around.
They aren’t distracted.
They’re focused and intentional.
They have a mission.
They’re serious. Committed.
They are tasked to transport people, protect people from danger, and save people who may be injured or wounded.
They are the protective force that is able to keep people from falling, with a task to deliver them safely to their destination.
You may not FEEL very important, but in God’s eyes YOU are a VIP.
You’re so valuable that Christ came to earth and gave His life for you.
You’re so valuable that God wants to keep you from falling into sin and danger.
You’re so special that God has assigned angels to watch over you here on Earth.
You’re so special that Christ extends HIS righteousness to you and intercedes to God on your behalf…because He wants you to have a good judgment day.
God isn’t impressed with us.
God isn’t in awe of us.
God won’t share His glory with us.
But He does love us…and He, like the secret service, is able to keep us from falling and present us faultless at our final destination: heaven.
Angels AROUND you, God ABOVE you, the Holy Spirit IN you, the Word to GUIDE you, Christ interceding FOR you, and eternal glory waiting for you one day…all of these things demonstrate a God who loves you and cares for you.
God is protecting you, Christian.
He watches over you FAR BETTER than the Secret Service ever could.
