It’s been fun thinking about God’s promises lately. The great thing about the Word of God is that it contains thousands of promises…there are enough to write about for the rest of my life and on into eternity.
One of the daily truths that the Holy Spirit points out often is found in James 4:7. We’re told that submission to God will undergird our power to resist the devil’s temptations…and that resistance will cause him to flee from us.
That’s a powerful promise…and thank God it’s only a temporary one. When this life ends there will be no more need to battle temptation and sin. The flesh will be gone one day, and with it goes the constant nagging pull of sin. Why? Because the devil will be bound in a bottomless pit one day, and eventually thrown into the Lake of Fire. Not soon enough!
My friend, we look forward to eternity in heaven, but while we’re here on Earth we must submit to God, resist the devils temptations, and move forward toward Christ. One day we can remove our Christian soldier uniforms…until that day, we must resist temptation and fight the good fight of faith.

May we turn our back on the devil as we look into the face of our Lord and Saviour each day – in Him we are more than conquerors! Thank you for sharing this precious encouragement today Eric. God bless you richly today brother 🙏
