How do I define 2024? Busy, busy, busy, busy, go, go, go!
It’s been a busy year full of tragedies and triumphs, wins and losses, ups and downs.
Strength came and strength fled, some prayers were answered “yes” and some answered “no”. Some days I was running and other days I was crawling.
I’d love to say that this year has been full of victory, but to be honest the flesh had its way far too often. 2024 has often felt like an uphill battle, with certain notable areas of respite and victory.
Much of that is my own fault. A busy life often forgets the fundamentals, even when the busy-ness is church and ministry-related. My wife and I cram a lot into a day, for better or for worse.
Jesus told his disciples to take a break from ministry and get away for some rest and recuperation. I’m currently doing that while visiting family in South Carolina. I have been mentally preparing for the year ahead, planning achievable goals for 2025.
Take some time for rest, friends. Batteries need to be unplugged and recharged every so often, and so do Christians if we’re going to shine our brightest for the Lord.

Great reminder! I find that when I don’t make time for rest, my body breaks down and then I HAVE to rest, whether I like it or not.
Hope you and your family have a Happy New Year!

That’s true Heather…it’s far better to have a schedule that includes rest over a schedule that demands healing.
The past two days I have had 9-10 hours of sleep each night…much needed! A blessed new year to you and yours also!

Yes Eric, we all need a rest sometime, and no one knows our needs better than our Lord – hallelujah! I am praying for His presence and blessings on you and your wife in these days into 2025. 🙏
