Now We Have Christ

What a breathtaking truth. There was a time when God’s people lived on fragments of revelation. He spoke in dreams, in burning bushes, in thunder on mountains. Abraham followed God without a map, not knowing where the road would finally lead. Moses trembled on Sinai, receiving pieces of a covenant that pointed forward to something greater. The prophets carried promises they would never fully see fulfilled.

They wandered in hope. We live in fulfillment.

We are a blessed generation. We hold in our hands the completed Scriptures—sixty-six books telling one unified redemptive story. We are not waiting for the next prophet to clarify God’s will. We are not straining to interpret shadows. God has spoken finally and fully in Jesus Christ.

Christ is not a clue in the story. He is the point of the story.

Everything Abraham trusted in and everything Moses foreshadowed finds its completion in Him. The sacrifices, the laws, the promises, the prophecies—all converge in the person and work of Jesus. And now, we do not wander toward an unknown ending. We live on this side of the cross and the empty tomb.

What generations longed to see, we can read about daily. What prophets anticipated, we can study with clarity. Through the Holy Spirit and the written Word, we have access to the full revelation of God’s redemptive plan.

Let us not take lightly what others only glimpsed from afar.

Now we have Christ!
