“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Luke 2:13-14
When the angel and the heavenly host came to the shepherds to announce the birth of the Savior, their words were straight from God.
The praise choir gave a phenomenal message to humanity, but here’s what they DIDN’T say that night:
“Because of his mother Mary, Christ has been born!” No.
“A mighty warrior has been born tonight! He will conquer the Romans and establish His kingdom!” That wasn’t the message, either.
“Christ is here to stomp out sinners once and for all!” Nope.
“Make checks payable to ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ and receive a special blessing from God!”
Not even close.
They came to proclaim what?
Glory to God in the highest!
Peace on earth!
Good will toward men!
If men had written the script for Luke 2:14, it would have probably included the exaltation of man, human accomplishments, human desires, and human glorification.
I’m so glad that God wrote the script.
Glory to God in the highest for giving us His dear Son for the salvation of a bunch of sinners like us.
He wrote the script to include Joseph, Mary, the shepherds, the wise men, the angel, the heavenly host praise team, and many others. It was all BY HIM and FOR HIM!
God’s script is STILL in effect today, whether people believe it or not. Jesus Christ is STILL changing lives and saving souls. If He lives within your heart, then praise His holy name today!
