God is not only the Teacher of our hearts and mindsāHe is also the Teacher of our hands. Scripture is filled with lessons on how the Lord shapes what we do as much as what we believe.
Paul told the Ephesians, āLet him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.ā (Ephesians 4:28). Hands once used for sin were now to be used for service. Salvation changes not just who we are, but what we do.
David wrote, āBlessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.ā (Psalm 144:1). God trains the believerās hands for battleānot for violence, but for spiritual victory. The same hands that once clung to the world now grip the sword of the Spirit, ready to stand firm in truth.
Jesus said, āGive, and it shall be given unto you.ā (Luke 6:38). Hands once closed in greed are opened in generosity. And Paul reminded the church not to be found āhandling the word of God deceitfullyā (2 Corinthians 4:2). Our hands should never twist or misuse the sacred things of God.
Every believerās hands tell a storyāof what theyāve done, and what theyāve become. When surrendered to the Lord, our hands become instruments of grace. Take a look at your hands. Ask God to teach your hands againāhow to work, how to give, how to fight, and how to glorify Him.

You’re spiritual insights are motivating and thought-provoking. Thank you, Eric! š

I love the contrasts you made, Eric, between hands “before,” and hands “after.” Praise God for the miraculous transformation he engineers within those who submit to him. (And a happy transformation it is (Luke 11:28)!)
