Part One: No Fear of God

“Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.”
Psalm 33:8-9

Anybody with a single marble rolling inside their cranium can see that something isn’t right with this world.
What’s wrong with this world, anyway?

I mean, if you had to nail it down to ONE THING wrong with the world…what would it be?

In my humble opinion, it’s not globalism, communism, satanism, corruption, lies, greed…none of that.
Sin is not the main problem.
The devil is not the main problem.

All of those evil things working through humanity can only be effective if one thing is removed:
The fear of God…healthy respect for His power that leads to humility.

Last summer, I watched nude cyclists with rainbow body paint parade in front of cheering parents and shocked children.
They have no fear of God as they openly flaunt their deviancy.

Smash and grab robberies in broad daylight are now a daily occurrence…these criminals have no fear of God…or man.

Liars abound in society, and we have to wade through their lies everyday…they have no fear of God.

Politicians steal money from innocent people and make themselves wealthy…they have no fear of God.

There is a God in heaven, and humanity is supposed to have an understanding of Him and a healthy respect for His power.

Jesus said,
“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
Luke 12:5

Do you fear God?
What does that look like?
Someone who fears God filters their words, deeds, thoughts, and actions with the Word of God and the example of Jesus Christ…knowing that judgment day is coming one day soon. (Hebrews 9:27)

Fearing God and obeying Him is often like traveling a rough and rugged road to a great destination.
It takes effort and discipline, but is well worth it.

Those who scoff at God, without fear, pave their own road to a terrible destination.
It’s really quite foolish, and a terrible waste of time and potential.

Those in the picture above are looting a store called “Hot Topic”, but they have no fear of the hottest topic in the world (hell) and the God who made it for the devil’s demise. How sad is that? What a wasted way to live!
