What the Father Loves

At the heart of our faith is a simple but profound truth: God is not distant or indifferent—He loves deeply, intentionally, and personally. When we understand what the Father loves, we begin to understand His heart toward us. Here are just four things that God loves all of the time.

1. The Son
First and foremost, the Father loves His Son. In Matthew 3:17, The Bible declares: “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Jesus is the perfect reflection of the Father’s nature. To know Christ is to encounter what the Father delights in most—perfect obedience, humility, and love.

2. Righteousness
God loves righteousness. Psalm 11:7 says: “For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.” The Father delights in what is pure, just, and good. When we pursue righteousness in this world of lies, we align ourselves with His character and invite His presence into our lives.

3. A Cheerful Giver
The Father loves a generous heart. 2 Corinthians 9:7 reminds us: “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” Giving reflects God’s own nature—He is the ultimate giver. Whether it’s our time, resources, or compassion, generosity mirrors His love and spreads His grace.

4. Souls (His Greatest Love)
Above all, God loves people—souls created in His image. John 3:16 declares: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This is the culmination of His love: not abstract, but sacrificial. He gave what He loved most to redeem what He loves deeply—you.

When we grasp what the Father loves, our priorities shift. We cherish Christ, pursue righteousness, give freely, and value every soul. In doing so, we don’t just understand His love—we live it out and let it grow freely!
