Strong Christian Women

“The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;”
Titus 2:3

We need strong Christian women in our lives and in society.
The apostle Paul wrote to Titus and listed some qualities that mark a mature Christian woman.

Holy behavior. This doesn’t mean women are to be serenely parading like robed nuns, but rather being mindful that a holy God is watching how they conduct themselves…and thus desiring to please Him.

Not false accusers. Manipulators have a purpose when they stir up trouble, and it’s usually to sow disunity in a group. False accusers are manipulators who braid a rope of drama and whip people up against each other.
(It’s best to keep opinions to ourselves or go to someone directly with any issues.)

Not given to much wine. Sobriety is always the best choice. I know some older women who drink and they’re coarse, vulgar, loud, and abrasive. Those soft, feminine qualities get choked out when the wine starts flowing…and righteous inhibitions are often melted by booze.

Teachers of good things.
Women make excellent teachers…
I know, I married one.
God wants them teaching good things to others, things like love, patience, obedience, mercy, kindness, generosity, etc.
The best teachers practice what they teach, just like the best preachers practice what they preach.

We need strong Christian women to impact every household and our society with their lives of faith.

Stay in the Word, ladies.
Let it mold you and make you a trophy of His grace…and may your testimony of righteousness and purity impact younger ladies around you.

    1. Amen my friend…your comment made me remember some elderly Christian women from my childhood that I had largely forgotten. They’ve since gone on to glory, but they were very faithful. I’m so glad you had such good examples to shape and influence you, brother Alan.
      Have a blessed day!
