There was a time when the oceans didn’t exist: above ground, that is.
We have only ever known a planet that is covered with more water than land mass.
The Bible teaches that there was a time when the world was more land mass than water.
Isn’t that amazing?
What happened to this planet was so cataclysmic that it should still be talked about today by all of humanity: a major flood overran the Earth and overtook every living thing on the planet, reshaping Earth’s geography into what we see today.
And the evidence of the flood is everywhere you look:
Dinosaur and animal bones found buried in contorted positions…buried in water and mud.
Giant clam fossils found on mountaintops all over the world.
How’d they get there?
Polystrate tree fossils found in the upright position running through several different layers of rock…how do you fossilize a tree in the upright position? Pack it in muddy water very quickly.
Many stories of an ancient flood exist in different cultures all over the world.
What happened here?
There was a massive flood that brought judgment against mankind, destroying the world and totally reshaping things for a new start.
Mankind has largely forgotten the flood. They say the dinosaurs were killed by an asteroid, a disease, an ice age…anything but a flood.
They think that what we see has always been…not so.
EVERY feature of Earth’s geography is a result of Noah’s flood. What we see now was brought about because of God judging sin and corruption in the human race.
The next judgment will bring fire.
People ignore God now, but not forever. He will send judgment again…but not with water.
“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”
2 Peter 3:7
God is still a consuming fire…and He doesn’t play silly games with sin.

Excellent post Eric; I am constantly amazed at how people dismiss the Biblical flood when archaeological evidence overwhelmingly points to such an event…and more is being discovered still. I am convinced it is the evil spirits working within men which hide the facts from their view. A days is coming soon when all the world will see the return of the Messiah, and there will be no room for doubt.

Thanks brother, Alan…When I look at the world I see the aftermath of a lot of water moving. I don’t think we can fully grasp what happened and the forces at work when “the fountains of the deep” broke open…but in the flood there is judgment AND grace displayed.
Eight souls saved alive and here we sit as a product of that grace, writing from across the ocean to one another about our great God.😀😉
