Remember: He’s Mighty

“That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.”
Joshua 4:24

There’s a reason my chiropractor sends me reminders when my next scheduled appointment is approaching…because we’re human and tend to forget things.

Israel was no different….they needed reminders of who God was, and that He was to be feared.

My admonition is simple…
When you stay in the Word of God every day you’re reminded that He is to be feared…which is to say, “respected as our supreme authority.”

But if you live for the world every day, it usually takes a tragic or serious event to bring your focus back to Him.

God’s hand is mighty.
And His hand hasn’t lost an ounce of strength or power.
Consider His power today as you see a million reminders of His strength all around you.

  1. How often we need to be reminded that God is not a benevolent Grandad on a cloud…He is Almighty God! He deserves nothing less than our reverence and worship every day. Thank you for sharing this post with us today brother. God bless you richly today 🙏

  2. Your admonition is good advice, but not easily practiced by those who live for the world. When there were more practicing Christians, there were more mentors. With fewer practicing Christians, the secular influence takes over. So, keep up the great posts! 🙂

    1. You are correct…when society becomes ignorant and Godless, it’s harder to find Godly examples…but the flip side is that those who are committed to righteousness shine brighter and brighter.

God bless and keep you sister!

  3. I just finished reading the book of Deuteronomy today, and I was confused by all the repetition. All of the laws and covenants, repeated over and over again. But then, I realized that the Israelites had a short memory! God even gave Moses a song to teach them so that they would remember to turn back to Him after they had strayed away.

You are correct in saying that we need to remain in God’s word daily so that we do not forget!

    1. You make a good point!
When I’m going through the Bible in a year, Numbers and Deuteronomy seem to drag on and on due to their repetition.
But the Lord taught me a lot about reading all those names and laws.

I’m reminded that faithful scribes painstakingly recorded those names and laws as a record of lineage and law…amazing.

And I’m also reminded of His grace in that we don’t have to live according to those laws and sacrificial offerings.

Thanks for reminding me of those things with your comment! I forgot…again!😆
