Jesus Authored Your Faith

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2

I grew up reading all the works of my two favorite novelists:
Tom Clancy and Frank Peretti.

Tom Clancy must have been some kind of genius. He had an awesome ability to weave stories filled with complex characters, international intrigue, political drama, military action, and “just in time” heroic suspense.

His books just HAD to be made into movies, and the ones that made it to the big screen did very well.

Frank Peretti has a knack for supernatural storytelling. He sees the undertones of the depraved human condition and brings to light the battle between good and evil.
The action in his novels always centers on a spiritual problem, and he solves that problem with Godly characters who point wholeheartedly toward Christ.
His novels SHOULD be made into movies.

These are accomplished authors, able to start a story and carry it through to a satisfying point of completion.

But they pale in comparison to the Author of our faith. Jesus Christ is writing, and has written, the most amazing story of all time: the story of the redemption of mankind.

All of creation has been written in to His story of redemption. Every single person is a character that has an opportunity for a fascinating role and a fantastic ending.

Jesus Christ has written the devil into the script as the antagonist.
He has written Himself into the script as the protagonist.
He has given us the opportunity to choose Him and life, rather than Satan and death.

And what He has authored for your life He also will finish, so that your faith will one day become sight.

“Faithful is he that calleth you,
who also will do it.” (1 Thes 5:17)

It’s His story.
