His Promises: Part Five

I don’t know about you, but I get weak. My body has weakened as I’ve gotten older. I also have a debilitating illness which has wasted certain muscles and robbed me of physical strength.

As a result, I take a TON of supplements which help my body to perform well and maintain good health. I am constantly researching vitamins, minerals, substances, essential oils, diets, fads, and old wives remedies…if it shows promise, I’ll take it.

I believe these supplements have helped my health greatly. I’d be in much worse shape if I failed to take them regularly…just like Scripture. Christians are weaker when we don’t supplement our days with His Word.

The promise of God found in Isaiah 40:29 is my most favorite, because it guarantees hope when I’m weak and powerless in the flesh.

You must stand on something when this life kicks your legs out from under you…there must be a truth that gives you enduring strength in your heart and mind. This verse is an ironclad promise for when you feel weak.

He gives power and strength to the weak. Guaranteed. This is the verse I quote when praying for others who are struggling in life…including myself. I recommend every Christian memorize this verse, it will be needed more often than not.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love this post Eric, especially the idea of the Word of God as our eternal health supplement. There are many times in my life when I have been weak in health, but praise God I know that He strengthens my spirit in His Word – hallelujah! May our Father God continue to guide, bless and strengthen you today brother 🙏

  2. Amen! I love your analogy of taking your daily supplements and how we need a daily dose of scripture. Yes, I always need a daily refilling of God’s strength. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.” Zechariah 4:6.
