In a world filled with billions and billions of people, it’s amazing that each person has an individually unique mind, body, and soul. Perhaps even more amazing is God’s ability to keep track of each person and listen for their hearts cry toward Him. Did you ever consider that God doesn’t love anyone more or less than He loves you? He loves you just as much as He loved King David, who penned the Psalm above. You are one of billions of souls that God has created for His pleasure and you have an individual and distinct role in His present kingdom’s work and will.
When you invited Jesus Christ to take up residence in your heart, and asked Him to cleanse you from your wicked record of sin, He heard your individual voice and cry toward Him. Your distinct voice, like your fingerprint, is unlike any other in the world.
The beauty of Christianity is that it involves a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, with prayer and praise going directly to the One who shed His blood at Calvary for you. It has been often said that if you were the only person on planet Earth, with nothing but sin to entertain your thoughts and life, Jesus Christ still would have come to this world and suffered a cruel death to pay the price tag for your sin. He gave everything in order to save your soul from destruction in hell.
When you hear the adjective “custom”, what comes to mind? You may imagine a custom car with a high-performance engine, fabricated body panels, and a high gloss, head-turning paint job. The custom car has been modified from its stock, perhaps boring, factory condition and enhanced to suit the owners unique desires.
There is a lot of time, energy, expense, and focus that goes into the creation of a unique custom car.
Perhaps you think of custom made jewelry. A man walks into a jewelry store and is unable to find the right pendant for his wife. Nothing in the display case looks like what he has in mind. The jeweler listens to his requests and pulls out a small sketch pad. Together they discuss and sketch what the man has in mind, finally settling on a specific design with a unique gemstone setting. The jeweler hand crafts the pendant, sets the stone, and 3 days later he delivers the custom jewelry to the customer.
There was only one King David in the world. He had specific needs of salvation, judgment, and prayer and He asked God to respond to Him as an individual. You had a specific need when you got saved. Yes, you’re a sinner just like everyone else. But you had, and still have, individual circumstances, strengths, and weaknesses that require a personal God to respond to your unique needs.
Your helmet of salvation wasn’t stamped out on a production line and delivered to you in a plain brown box. God custom made your helmet in response to your individual cry for His intervention in your life. Your soul and your salvation are custom made, yet no more or less valuable than anyone else. Jesus Christ is the master craftsman, individually hearing and specifically saving all who call on Him. (Romans 10:13)

Thank you brother Alan, it’s a thought that has been with me as of late: The Lord is a personal Savior, so He deals with us as individuals, but also with His children as a whole. He’s amazing! Have a blessed day brother!

This is so beautiful!
I had to pick up a family member from the airport yesterday, which gave me some time to people-watch. I marveled at the hundreds or even thousands of people that walked by. Each one is a unique creation of God, and YES, He loves every one of them just as much as He loves me. What an amazing thought! God is so good! 🙌

Your story reminds me of that Brandon Heath song called “Gimme Your Eyes”…which describes him in an airport watching humanity go by and asking God to open his eyes to the needs around him.
Have a blessed day! God is good!
