A Can in the Sand

Satellites are incredible pieces of technology. My dad once told me about flipping through satellite feeds years ago and stumbling upon a raw NASA broadcast. He watched in awe as the camera showed the breathtaking view of Earth from space.

Suddenly, it began zooming in—through the atmosphere, across a continent, and down toward a desert in Africa. The camera kept closing in until it focused on something shockingly small: a soda can lying in the sand. He was amazed—and honestly a little unsettled—at how a satellite so far away could see something so tiny on the ground.

As advanced as that technology is, it’s still limited. That satellite could see the can, but it couldn’t read the label, analyze its contents, or know its story.

But God can. From His throne in Heaven, He doesn’t just see the surface of His creation—He understands it completely. He knows every leaf that falls, every grain of sand that shifts, and every heartbeat that pulses in every living thing.

And even more profound, God knows YOU. Because your identity is in Christ, you are not a face lost in the crowd—you are a child of the King, seen and understood in every way.

When you feel overlooked, confused, or alone, remember this truth: you belong to the One who searches you, knows you, and loves you beyond measure. He understands your heart perfectly and invites you to walk each day in that confidence.

  1. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

    1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

Thanks Eric for reminding us how wonderful “He” is…
